we run them more than a minute or so that isn't in the pic. We had just started the engine. We have an auto trans bellhousing with a starter attached that we bolt up to crank it. It really isn't that much trouble to bench test our engines now that everything is set up. We run the motor for a while if its new and then bolt turbos and break them in a little. You should never run new turbos on a rebuilt engine that hasn't been run up to operating temp. Because at first you get some blow by until the rings seat. The excess crankcase presure can cause problems with turbo seals. This is one of the main reasons we decided we needed to build the bench test setup. Plus now we run our rebuilt motors for a while to make sure everything is OK before we ship one out.
